DIN stands for Deutsche Industrial Normale – the uniformity standards developed in Germany which apply to all commonly manufactured products. The German DIN 43650 has now been adapted internationally as EN 175301-803.
The popular DIN 43650 includes a series of electrical connectors designed for use within solenoid valves, particularly those within hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The connector can also be used on pressure sensors and switches, filter, optical, limit and proximity switch applications.
When purchasing the DIN 43650 it’s important to ensure you select the correct version for your application. There are three different connector types (A, B and C):
There are three types of DIN connector
All connectors are suitable for 24, 48, 110, and 230 voltage ranges and can include an LED indicator which is used for diagnostic purposes and can show whether or not the connector is receiving power. Each version can be used with both AC and DC voltages.
DIN connectors have many advantages, including quick valve or coil exchange, excellent insulation, possible water tightness and many more.
Once you have chosen the right connector, it’s crucial to ensure you have the right gasket; otherwise you will not achieve the IP rating and could potentially damage your connector by over tightening the screw. We offer a wide range of gasket materials to suit all specifications. Contact our expert team to find our more.
