The black, square connector that has 12B GDM written on the back will more than likely be a Hirschmann, Type A, DIN connector and the 14A GDM is probably a Grey, Type A DIN connector. Hirschmann distributor, Electroustic is commonly asked the following questions;
“It’s black, square and has 12B GDM written on it.”
“It’s got 14A GDM printed on the back”
Without a full colour brochure or a point of reference it can be difficult to identify any one connector from another. We understand how frustrating it can be when you need a particular DIN unit but you don’t know which connector is the right one for you. So, we have listed a few handy tips to help you out;
Type A DIN connector (DIN 43650)
These products are available in black and grey. Also available are transparent versions which make use of internal LED indicators.
The industrial connectors have flat blade contacts and 11mm pin spacing. The industrial DIN version has a ‘U’ shape blade contact and 10mm spacing.
There are 3 types of DIN connector; A, B & C. The difference between them is their size. Type A measures approximately 28mm x 28mm, Type B is around 20mm x 28mm whereas Type C is the smallest at about 10mm x 10mm.
If you can answer each of these questions, you should be able to easily identify which industrial connector you require. Now all you need to do is send an email to sales@electroustic.co.uk to place your order.
