Originally developed for use by the defence and aeronautical sectors, these connectors were designed specifically for use in the harshest of environments.

What is a MIL Spec Connector?

Typical characteristics of a military specification connector are;

  • Metal casings
  • Hermetically sealed pins
  • Vibration and shock resistant
  • Resistant to extreme temperatures
  •  Waterproof and Dust proof
  • Multi-pole
  • Quick connection/disconnection ability.

Which applications use MIL Spec connectors?

These connectors are used in a number of applications. Where they were once used specifically for military purposes they are now used in the following;

  • Military
  • Aeronautical

Where can I purchase MIL Spec connectors?

Electroustic now offer a range of MIL Spec connectors from INC. Their range includes the MIL DTL 26482 series, MIL DTL 5015 (MIL C 5015) and the  INB Series.

1) The MIL DTL 26482 series is a highly robust, hermetically sealed miniature connectorwhich is environment resistant and is a quick disconnect connector.  This connector is available in a number of classes and types with different finishes. Classes E, F, J, and Pconnectors are used in applications with temperature ranges of 55°C to 125°C. WhereasClass H receptacles are used in applications where pressure containment is required across the wall or panel on which the connector is mounted.

This connector is used in a number of applications which are not military based. The MIL-DTL-26482 design supports the use of Ethernet data communications networks in harsh environments while maintaining compatibility with IEC 60603-7-7 regulations. The MIL-DTL-26482 Series includes MS3110, MS3111, MS3112, MS3114 and MS3116 connectors

2) The MIL C 5015 Series of robust electrical connectors have a screw and solder type coupling this connector meets with MIL-DTL-5015 standards. These versatile connectors are used by the defence as well as in industrial applications. Depending on the class, these connectors can be used in applications where temperatures range from -55°C to 200°C.

3) Designed in accordance with VG95 234 specifications, the INB circular bayonet coupling connector series is highly reliable. With a proven bayonet coupling design, it offers exceptional vibration resistance and a protected sealing against fluids. These connectors are interchangeable with the corresponding MIL-DTL-5015 connectors butnot intermateable.
