IP69k Connectors

IP69k Connectors are connectors which achieve the IP standard 69k and are typically used in environments which require stringent hygeine and cleanliness levels such as food and beverage applications.

The IP69k rating means it is totally sealed against ingress from dust and is protected from high pressure water and steam jets. The 9k rating signifies that a device is protected against close-range, high-pressure, and high-temperature spray downs.

IP Ratings: (Ingress Protection or International Protection)

The Ingress Protection rating system is a classification system showing the degrees of protection from solid objects and liquids. The first number refers to the protection against solid objects, normally dust in relation to connectors. If the first number is 0, there is no protection provided. The number 6 is for total protection against dust. The second number of the IP rating system refers to protection against liquids. A 9k indicates protection against close-range high pressure spay downs, and the "K" applies to the high temperature of the water used. This IP standard requires the water pressure to be between 1160-1450 psi, at a rate of approximately 4 gallons/minute and at a temperature of 176° F.
