BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Selling a broad range of electrical connectors, value added products and manufacturing services to the industrial sector.

DUTIES:

  • Maximise the potential sales of the Company’s connectivity products and manufacturing services.

  • Identify new business opportunities both within existing and new markets.

  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with existing and new customers/suppliers/manufacturers.

  • Initiate customer visits when required to promote the products/services available and to identify potential new applications/ projects.

  • Liaise and build good relationships with our internal teams.

  • Provide timely and accurate management information when required.

  • To work effectively with existing Company policies and procedures.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURS

  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of connectors and their applications within industry or a strong understanding and knowledge of contract manufacturing.

  • A proven track record of success in increasing profitable sales.

  • Good personal representation and well-developed presentation skills.

  • Ability to understand and interpret technical data.

  • Competent IT skills and ability to use MRP software.

  • The ability to plan and co-ordinate customer visits and present itineraries internally when required.

  • Must be self-motivated, self-disciplined and able to work with or without supervision.

  • An effective communicator, both verbal and written.

  • Well-developed negotiation skills.

  • Flexible and adaptable in approach.

  • Holder of a full UK driving licence essential and be prepared to drive countrywide.

  • Able and willing to stay away from home, as required to meet the needs of the business.

  • Willingness to lead/participate in trade shows and exhibitions.

  • Holder of a full passport and be able to undertake business related air travel if required.

  • Must possess the potential to grow and develop with the business

Location – Milton Keynes Office with customer visits
