MIL Spec connectors for use in industrial applications

Developed in the 1930’s for use by the military and aeronautical applications, Military Standard (MS) or MIL Spec connectors are designed for use in harsh environments and in severe applications.  Built to Military specification these connectors are designed to beshock resistant, vibration resistant, waterproof and of course to withstand extreme temperatures.

Used in a number of applications from communications, naval ships, navigation, marine guidance and electronic warfare these connectors come in a range of shapes and sizes; the most common of which are circular, multi-pole, PCB, hermetically sealed,filtered and I/O rectangular connectors.

As these connectors have become smaller and lighter over the years they are now being used outside of military applications and can be seen in the oil and gas, automotive andindustrial sectors. The requirement for robust, harsh environment, waterproof connectors within industrial sectors is ever-increasing; however MIL connectors used outside of military applications can meet the MIL STD without the costly approvals required by the military meaning they don’t cost military prices!

Electroustic are distributors for INC, they manufacture a range of low cost MIL Specconnectors that meet the following standards; MIL C 5015, MIL-DTL 26482 and theVG95234. The MIL-DTL 26482 series of connectors is most widely used in militarycommunications equipment as a result of its exceptional electrical, mechanical and environmental characteristics. INC’s MIL-DTL 26482 series offers an even more cost effective solution to that offered by Servo with their Yeonhab 24682 series.

Both INC’s & Yeonhab 26482 series meet the following military standards; MS3110 (YH3110), MS3111 (YH3111), MS3112 (YH3112), MS3114 (YH3114), MS3116 (YH3116) and MS3119 (YH3119). Part numbers for these connectors are seemingly endless due to the fact that you can choose the following options when creating your connector requirement; Shell style, Class, Shell size, Contact arrangement, Contact style and Alternate insert positions in addition to the finish.

If price point is not critical we also offer MIL spec connectors meeting the 24682 standard from Amphenol which cross refer to ITT Cannon, Glenair, Souriau and other manufacturers.
